There are many opportunities in the Northland area for our local communities to participate in Festivals, Fairs, Carnivals and Celebration Events to give everyone a chance to come together and have fun.
Some of the celebrations are for holidays like Independence Day or they have a specific theme or focus like Jesse James. But their main purpose is to provide a space for the community to get together as well as an opportunity for local bands and vendors to connect with people in the area.

Platte County Fair
This large fair features a Rodeo, Exhibits, Demolition Derby, 4H Livestock, Mud-a-Thon and much more.
This is a huge festival with many vendors around the Independence Square, live music stages, and carnival style activities.
Spring on the Farm at Watkin’s Mill State Park
This event features sheep shearing, toy making, woodstove cooking, and more historic crafts and music.
Shoal Creek Living History Museum Reenactments
This historical area features many activities throughout the year including reenactments. Check the website for dates and details.
Smithville Lake Fest
This annual event typically happens on Father’s Day Weekend and features Miss Smithville, Little Miss & Mr Smithville and Baby Contests, Food Trucks, Shopping Vendors, Cornhole Tournament, Unmanned Boat Race, Laser Tag, a Dunk Tank, Face Painting and other activities.
